Everyone knows that you should drink at least 2 litres of water (around 8 glasses) a day, but really, how many of us actually do? It’s so easy to forget or get distracted, and we only realise we haven’t drunk enough water when we start to feel dehydrated. A top tip is to keep a 2 litre bottle of water with you all the time and make sure you drink it throughout the day, or even more in hot weather.
Did you know that it’s not only drinks that can help you stay hydrated: lots of fruit and vegetables are also great sources of water. In fact, around a fifth of your daily fluid intake comes from the foods you eat, so making wise food choices can really give your hydration a boost. Some water-rich fruit and vegetables include cucumber (which is 96% water!), tomatoes (95% water), spinach (93% water), mushrooms (92% water), and broccoli (90% water).
