Chocolate Brownie Protein Pancakes

These chocolate brownie protein pancakes are 100% a game changer. Protein is really important for building muscle and recovery after exercise, but sometimes a protein shake just doesn’t hit the spot. With pancakes though, the choice is endless. You could experiment with different protein powder flavours or top the stack with either greek yogurt and fruit, Nutella, Biscoff, caramel sauce, honey…the list goes on.

Though you might have to wake up slightly earlier, a high protein breakfast like these chocolate pancakes are always worth it.

Ingredients (Makes 4-5 pancakes)

  • 30g oats
  • 1 scoop of chocolate brownie protein powder (we used the one from MyProtein)
  • 1 tbsp fat free greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of milk (we used soya)

How to make chocolate protein pancakes

  • Bring all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and blend until completely smooth.
  • Then place a frying pan on medium heat and add a few sprays of Frylight.
  • Now you can either do several small pancakes at a time or do them one by one. We recommend you do one at a time as it can be difficult to get them right on your first attempt.
  • Pour some of the mixture into the pan until you’re happy with the pancake size. Once the mixture has plenty of air holes, it’s time to flip
  • Stack the pancakes one at a time on a plate (the fresh ones will keep those at the bottom of the pile warm)
  • Drizzle with honey and add any delicious toppings of your choice
  • Enjoy!
