5 High Protein Breakfasts To Kickstart Your Day

Getting in a good amount of protein each day is key to building and maintaining muscle, but it’s not always easy to hit your macros. Though you might have to wake up a little earlier, a high protein breakfast is definitely worth your time to avoid desperately trying to hit your protein intake before bed. Here’s some really tasty and easy breakfast recipes that are packed with protein for you to try.

Baked Oats

Baked oats are pretty much like having a cake for breakfast, and who doesn’t love cake?! You just need 40g of oats, a tablespoon of your favourite protein powder, 75ml of milk, and half a teaspoon of baking powder. Blend it all together, pop it in an ovenproof dish and cook at 180 degrees for 15 minutes. You can add in some fruit before baking (raspberries work great) and top your baked oats with whatever you fancy  – we personally love treating ourselves to 15g of melted lotus biscoff spread and a crumbled lotus biscuit. Amazing.

Breakfast Omelette

The best thing about having an omelette for breakfast is that you can cram in as many fillings as you like to help keep you full until lunch. Ham, cheese, spinach, peppers, crispy bacon… it’s all about volume eating here and filling your omelette with calorie dense foods!

Pesto Eggs

Pesto eggs are all the rage on TikTok at the moment so we couldn’t resist giving them a go! This yummy take on the classic sunny side up delight uses green pesto instead of oil to fry the eggs, adding a fresh infusion of basil and pine nuts to what otherwise would be a standard breakfast. Eggs are naturally high in protein, so pop a couple of tablespoons of pesto into the pan and get frying for the perfect post-workout breakfast.

Protein Pancakes

We love a good pancake stack at Prep Perfect. Blitz up some oats with your favourite protein powder, an egg, a dash of baking powder, a tablespoon of fat free yoghurt, and half a cup of milk and you’ve got yourself the perfect mix to make delicious high protein pancakes. Top them with honey, fruit, and even a little bit of chocolate for extra indulgence!
